In 1982 Mamod introduced the TWK 1 as a traction engine Kit to improve sales. This
model is distinctive in Black and Yellow with a solid flywheel and no canopy; it
also came with a lumber wagon.
In 1984 Mamod also made this model as a factory standard model named the TWS 1, this
model has a distinctive smokbox door that has no writing just a silver disk. The
other differences are a soldered on not screwed in steam pipe and it has the standard
silver hubcap on the ends of the axle unlike the TWS Kit, which has black rounded
hubcaps.
They dropped this model from the range in 1985 so this is a very rare model, unfortunately
mine is a hybrid cross between the two (Mamod using up spare parts no doubt)
