Mamod SR1A 1967
For anyone that doesn't know this engine, it’s probably one of the rarest Mamod mobiles ever made.
In fact I had actually come to believe they were just a myth and never even existed at all, as the only other one I have ever see is not from the most accurate source.
This SR1A model was reputedly only ever made in 1967 for a one year period, this was the first year Mamod started to put directional levers on their steamrollers and Traction Engines. Then in early 1968 Mamods whole mobile range moved to the all to familiar bent directional lever we have to this day.
So there it is – It was only made for one year, and its as rare as Rocking Horse #@&%:
I am the first to admit however it’s not in the best of conditions, but hey when this model is concerned beggars cant be choosers . Someone has had a go with the gloss brush at some point, but otherwise it’s all there and it runs like a dream.
